Penne in Herbs, Garlic and Seafood Cream Sauce

This year, we're lucky to have mom here in Manila during Mother's Day. I initially planned to take her out for dinner but I thought restaurants would be crowded and I honestly was feeling lazy to step out of the door. Mom likes pasta so I cooked something special for her as a Mother's Day treat.

The proportion of ingredients listed below makes 7-8 servings depending on the appetite of the person eating.

Ingredients

500 grams penne pasta, cooked according to package instructions
200 grams artificial crab meat, cut into strips
500 grams mussels, steamed and removed from the shell
200 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 boxes all purpose cream
1 tablespoon of dried rosemary
1 tablespoon of dried oregano
1 tablespoon of dried basil
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion, minced
butter for sauteing
salt and pepper to taste

How to cook

Heat pan over medium fire and put butter. When the butter has melted, saute the onion in it. Add the crab meat, mussels, and shrimp. Lower the fire and add the all purpose cream. Let the cream simmer, and throw in the rosemary, oregano, dried basil, and garlic powder. I suggest that you add the herbs little by little to get the taste you want. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Now, that was simple! I wanted to serve the penne and the sauce separately and just let them decide how much sauce they want, but I decided to mix them before serving; to make sure we don't have leftover penne.

Mom, sis, and my brothers liked it! Success!
